astonishing piano cover of an academy award winning song
For most pianists, this arrangement will be a challenge to learn up to tempo, esp. to bring out the melody within the continuity of the keyboard figurations that are shared between the hands. VK makes it look so effortless in her video. The left hand is esp challenging, with abundant leaps across the lower half of the keyboard throughout. The glorious sound of the refrain makes an effective contrast with the more mellow verses. The notes of the melody are generally not marked in the score (the reason for 4.5 for quality); however, they are all there, often embedded within the notes of each chord.
