This is piano accompaniment only
OK I was confused by this. I thought the top stanza was the alto sax part. Its not - its the piano transposition of the alto sax part since the alto sax is an E flat instrument and the piano is a C instrument. This top stanza is what the piano would play if it were playing the melody. The piano accompaniment is in the key of E flat minor. For an alto sax (an E flat instrument) the melody must be written in the key of C minor. Therefore you need to find the C minor alto sax version of Take Five elsewhere on the site if you want to play with this accompaniment. To make matters even more confusing (or maybe simpler) there is also a package that contains both this accompaniment and the alto sax part. Purchasing together saves a little money over purchasing the two parts separately. Finally, I was confused by the fact that the piano accompaniment was 5 pages and the alto sax solo part was only 2. No worries - the sax part is simply printed in a more concise format - both pieces have 68 measures. We dont know this because you cant see the entire piece online. Hope Im not the only one confused by this - Id feel stupid if I were.
