Tarantella is a lively dance in 6/8 time featuring quick steps originating in Taranto Italy. The dance was originally a flirtation one where couples danced in a manner to entice courtship, however it is more known as a "dance of hysteria" for when a victim was bitten by a spider (tarantula).
