Playwright Dan Goggin has managed to find the humanity and the humor in the everyday life of a nun. From the long ago dreams that have not been forgotten to the current personnel finagling at the convent; Goggin gives a light-hearted view of five flawed human beings who don't take themselves too seriously even when they are doing God's work.
And the personalities are completely delightful: Sister Mary Regina is the tightrope walking Mother Superior, Sister Mary Hubert as the ever practical Mistress of the Novices, Sister Mary Leo who hopes to dedicate her life to God through dance, and Sister Mary Robert Anne who is tired of being the understudy and is a comic genius with a veil.
But it is Sister Mary Amnesia's innocent exuberance that really draws the viewer in. As the character who can't remember her name, she is only concerned with the present. She likes you, she likes the other nuns and really has no past to mar her vision of the future. And you like her back. You like the other nuns. And you like "Nunsense" because it is simply a lot of fun.
