Guantanamera
5/19/2018 1:51:28 PMI am a native of Cuba, and Guantanamera is and has always been a favorite of Cubans. There was a daily radio program that played Guantanamera, and the lyrics were a narrative of something that had happened, generally a love triangle, and at the end it stated how the story ended. Nowadays, the words are verses from José Martí, a great patriot, writer, poet and philosopher. José Martí is, for Cubans, what George Washington represents. By the way, Guantanamera is a native woman from Guantánamo.
