Works as a ballad or an upbeat tune
7/7/2015 11:36:20 PMThis song was originally a country-pop crossover hit, heavy on the guitar. I sing at a weekly cabaret open mic night where we have only a pianist for accompaniment. Once he realized that the sheet music had not one, but two codas, the two of us pulled it off beautifully. The arrangement is accurate to the original, including the musical break, and working only with a pianist gave me the opportunity to adjust the tempo and really turn this country-pop hit into a lovely up-tempo ballad. Its a crowd pleaser!
